Plumage DetailsMales have a vibrant crimson-red body covered in numerous small white ocelli (spots) edged in black. They possess a black crown and nape, and striking bare deep blue facial skin that extends into two fleshy blue 'horns' and an inflatable blue gular wattle with red markings, displayed during courtship. Females are duller, mottled brown with less distinct white spots.

Description
