Description
The Rock Dove, also widely known as the Feral Pigeon, is a medium-sized bird typically characterized by its grey plumage, often with iridescent green and purple patches on the neck and throat. Wild type birds have two distinct black bars on each wing and a white rump, though feral populations exhibit a wide variety of plumage colors and patterns due to interbreeding with domestic pigeons. They have short legs, a small head, and a stout body. They are highly social birds, often seen in large flocks.
