Description
The Mallard Duck is a widespread and common dabbling duck. Adult males are easily recognizable with their iridescent green head, white neck ring, chestnut breast, and grey flanks. Females are mottled brown. Both sexes feature an iridescent blue speculum (wing patch) bordered with white. The birds in the image are ducklings, characterized by their downy, striped plumage, typically brown and yellow, which provides camouflage.
