Plumage DetailsPlumage is predominantly greyish-brown with heavy streaking and barring, providing excellent camouflage against tree bark. It features a large, round facial disc with concentric dark rings and a distinctive white 'X' or 'bow-tie' pattern between its bright yellow eyes. The beak is yellow, and it lacks ear tufts.
