Plumage DetailsAdult Verdins have a dull gray body, a bright yellow head and throat, and a distinctive reddish-chestnut patch on the lesser coverts (shoulder). The undertail coverts are whitish. Juveniles are duller, lacking the yellow head and shoulder patch.
