Plumage DetailsThe head, throat, and upperparts are a brilliant iridescent blue-green, appearing metallic blue or green depending on the light. It features a black mask around the eye and a prominent white eye. A thin white band separates the iridescent breast from the bright rufous (orange-brown) belly, which transitions to white on the lower belly and undertail coverts. The wings and tail are dark, often with a blue-green sheen.
