Plumage DetailsThe head is greyish-brown with fine white spotting. The back and mantle are a rich rufous-brown, contrasting with the darker, barred tail and wings which show white spotting and barring. The underparts are whitish with prominent rufous-brown barring.

Description
Sjöstedt's Owlet is a small, stocky owl with a relatively large, rounded head and bright yellow eyes. It typically perches upright, often in the mid-canopy of dense forests, where its cryptic plumage provides excellent camouflage.
