Plumage DetailsAdult males have a bright rose-red forehead, supercilium, throat, breast, and flanks, with a paler pinkish-red crown and nape. The back and wings are greyish-brown with darker streaking, and the rump is pinkish. Females are much duller, predominantly grey-brown with streaking, lacking the vibrant red coloration of the male.
