Description
The Handsome Spurfowl is a medium-sized, ground-dwelling bird endemic to peninsular India. It is typically found foraging in dense undergrowth within dry deciduous forests and rocky scrublands, often seen alone or in pairs. Males are particularly striking with their dark plumage, red facial skin, and prominent spurs.
