Plumage DetailsAdult Verdins have a plain gray body with a contrasting bright yellow head and throat. A distinctive chestnut (rufous) patch is visible on the bend of the wing (shoulder). Juveniles are duller gray with less pronounced yellow.
Vocalization / CallThe Verdin's song is a series of three to five clear, whistled notes, often described as 'tsee-tsee-tsee'. It also produces a sharp 'chip' call.
