Plumage DetailsThe Torrent Tyrannulet has a dark sooty-gray to blackish head and nape, contrasting with a medium gray back and rump. Its underparts are whitish, sometimes with a faint yellowish wash on the flanks. The wings are dark with two prominent white wing-bars, and the tail is dark.

Description
