Plumage DetailsMales display an iridescent green head, mantle, and back, often appearing blue in certain light, with an iridescent blue-violet rump. A prominent red breast band is bordered below by a narrow iridescent blue-violet band, and bright yellow pectoral tufts are visible on the flanks. The belly and flanks are brownish-grey, and wings and tail are dark brown. Females are much duller, olive-brown above and yellowish below.
