Plumage DetailsAdults are dark brown overall with a contrasting pale golden-buff head and neck. They possess prominent white patches on the leading edge of the shoulders (scapulars) and a dark tail with a broad white terminal band. Juveniles are much paler, sandy-buff, gradually acquiring adult plumage over several years.
