Plumage DetailsHighly polymorphic. Light morphs have white underparts with variable dark streaking on the belly and flanks, dark brown upperparts, and a rufous tail (often with a dark subterminal band). Dark morphs are almost entirely dark brown to blackish, sometimes with a rufous wash on the underparts, and a rufous tail. Juveniles typically have a barred tail.
