Plumage DetailsThe male has an iridescent metallic green head, throat, and upper breast, with a narrow iridescent blue-purple band separating it from a broad scarlet-red breast band. Below the red band is a narrow yellow band. The back is olive-green, and the wings and tail are dark. Females are duller, typically olive-green above and yellowish below.
