Plumage DetailsAdults display a white head, neck, underparts, and tail. The mantle and upperwings are medium grey, while the primary feathers are dark with prominent white tips, often featuring a 'mirror' on the outermost primaries. The stout bill is yellow with a distinct red spot on the lower mandible, and the legs are pinkish. In winter, the head and neck may show light streaking.
