Plumage DetailsAdult males have a glossy black head, throat, and upper breast. The rest of the body, including the nape, mantle, rump, and underparts, is bright yellow. The wings are black with a prominent white bar on the primaries and white tips on the tertials. The tail is black with yellow tips on the outer feathers. The bill is reddish-pink, and the eyes are dark red. Females are duller, with greenish-yellow upperparts and streaked whitish underparts.
