Plumage DetailsThe plumage is predominantly emerald green on the underparts and back. The crown and nape are black, contrasting with a bright blue supercilium extending from the lore to behind the eye. Wings are black with prominent bright blue shoulder patches and blue edges on the tertials, while the tail is dark blue. Some individuals may show a rufous or buff wash on the flanks.
